Hello everyone! This is Candace Brinkley Williams- Justina's sister. We have had some confusion about this website, so let me explain:

Several people have joined together and decided to help Justina. At the forefront of that is Evelyn Whitley and Tori Zananiri. They are helping our family with various needs that have come up and will come up. They also expressed the desire to raise funds to help Justina pay for her incurring medical bills. So, this website was designed to update people on things that happen weekly with Justina and our family and also to be a place where people can donate funds or link up to the "Take them a meal" website. At the end of every post will be a list of needs, the link to donate, and the link if you want to bring my family a meal.

Today has been a pretty good day for Justina. We set up an appointment with the Orthopedic doctor-- one thing off the list! This is where more bills could start to add up so please pray that the doctor will have a simple treatment plan and do it in a timely manner. We also found out that the Home Health Agency has accepted her as a "charity" case. Wonderful news! I am not sure why Home Health accepted her and the hospital did not...but we are so encouraged!

As a family we would like to thank the hundreds of people who have sent letters, e-mails, gifts, donation, and made meals! I know that we have been overwhelmed with kindness and prayers. We are so thankful to those who have gone the extra mile (Evelyn Whitley, Tori Zananairi, Jenks, Johnny and Mel, and all of those who know who you are). I personally have been surprised at how many of my classmates from nursing school have signed up to bring my family meals- how can I express my gratitude? It has helped me to cope because I am back in Georiga....Thank you CCHS girls!

On July 18, on her way to lead worship at New Life Church in Boone, Justina Brinkley, a senior at Appalachian State University (ASU), was in an automobile accident. Broadsided by an SUV, she suffered six broken ribs, a punctured lung, a lacerated spleen, seven fractures on her pelvis, and a broken sacrum. Just before she was hit, Justina threw her hands up in the air according to an eyewitness, an act that miraculously protected her hands and face from injury. Overwhelmed with gratefulness, she and her family recognize that the Lord not only kept her life but also made it possible for her continue to play her instruments during this time of recovery.

The bill for two days in ICU and two more on the orthopedic floor has already reached over $60,000. At the time of the accident, Justina was not insured by health insurance nor did she have supplemental insurance with her auto insurance. She was informed by the hospital that her only option is to pay the entire amount or to make a minimal monthly payment of hundreds of dollars with added interest charges for many years to come.

On July 21^st, Justina was released from the hospital. As an Art Education major with a minor in Dance, we are praying for 100% recovery.

PRAYER and NEEDS:

· There is a great deal of pain with this type of injury
